Kris Wu's Sentence Upheld, Mother Was Not Arrested in Connection to His Crimes

 Contrary to recent speculation, Kris Wu's prison sentence has been upheld, and there are no confirmed reports of his mother being arrested in connection with his legal troubles.

Kris Wu, the Chinese-Canadian pop star, was sentenced to 13 years in prison in November 2022 for rape and assembling a crowd to engage in promiscuous activities. This sentence was later upheld in November 2023 after he lost his appeal. He was also fined 600 million yuan (approximately USD 84 million) for tax evasion. After serving his sentence, he is expected to be deported from China.




Regarding his mother, reports from 2021 indicate that Kris Wu's mother filed a police report against a scammer who attempted to extort money from both her and a key accuser, Du Meizhu, by pretending to be involved parties in the scandal. This scammer was subsequently arrested. There is no evidence or official report stating that Kris Wu's mother was arrested or is being held in connection with his crimes.
